Hello [NAME],

There's no doubt that there is some craziness going on in our lives right now! Uncertainty about the financial markets, cost of living increases, $700 billion bail-outs!!! The list goes on...But, what I'm noticing, is that there is a ton of negativity and stress that is coming along with these thoughts. Patients are coming in with new conditions, flare-ups of old conditions, and all of which are "unexplainable!" The reality, this everyday stress is breeding physical and emotional sickness and dis-ease. So, let me help out with the following 5 rules for fighting stress:

Rule #1- Exercise! There is no doubt about it...exercise helps everything! Spend 20-30 minutes every day doing something that gets the heart pumping. Increasing blood flow and strengthing your body is a great thing. Plus, it causes your body to create more of the "feel-good" chemicals.

Rule #2- Eat Well! You are what you eat...you're mom was right!!! What you choose to put into your body is what it uses to create energy, build new tissue, and repair damages. The choice is yours...good food (fruits/veggies/good fats/etc), or bad food (sugars, refined carbohydrates, preservatives, artificial colors & flavors, etc.)

Rule #3- Schedule some alone time! Take some time to reflect on the things that are important to you. This time is also good to focus on some deep breathing to improve your oxygen levels, get rid of carbon dioxide, and lower your blood pressure.

Rule #4- Take vitamins! The American Medical Association reported back in 2001 that everyone should be taking a multivitamin because our soils have been depleted of many nutrients and minerals that your body needs to funtion well.

Rule #5- Chiropractic!!! (Couldn't help myself on this one!) Use chiropractic for whatever level of health and wellness you want to achieve. Get rid of pain, restore function, or even promote life! Because chiropractic removes irritation/interference from your nervous system (which controls everything by the way), it is able to reduce the impact that the stress of everyday life is throwing at you. This allows your body the ability to function better and be healthier!

Use these rules to help yourself and others through this time of uncertainty and increased stress. Your health is an invaluble asset to you and your family...make sure you are doing everything you can to preserve and enhance it.
